Dr. Niamh Shaw, a scientist, engineer, and space communicator, gave an inspiring keynote speech at the start of the day, talking about how she got into STEM. The last part of the experience was a live-streamed panel of women in tech that linked the Uxbridge and Richmond campuses. Students heard directly from women who are leaders in the tech industry.
The Amazon Girls' Tech Day is more than just a day; it's a chance to open up a whole new world of possibilities. Creative Hut helped these girls see themselves in the future of STEM by showing them exciting ways to get into tech and letting them try things out for themselves.
This project is part of our bigger Think Big Programme with AWS, which supports kids in the globally every year. Every activity, from teacher training to mobile workshops, is meant to close the skills and gender gap, one inspiring session at a time.
