This hands-on kit includes everything you need to build a playable 6-key keytar using everyday materials and a Makey Makey.
Every Invention Launchpad comes with a vibrant ’zine featuring step-by-step instructions, fascinating background facts, and awesome insights into inventing with simple circuits. Scan QR codes to access bonus content and loads of ideas for creative project hacks and mods.
Once you’ve built your Keytar, connect it to our exclusive online app and jam out like the DIY rockstar that you are!
You’ll get a hands-on introduction to simple circuits, digital inputs and outputs, and musical sound effects, but the fun doesn’t end when the build is completed.
Assembling it was just the beginning! Like all Invention Launchpads, your Keytar is designed to be reinvented. Rebuild it using different materials, remix the design, add a foot pedal for funky sound effects, lay down a drum beat, and explore all kinds of creative performance hacks.
